Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Optional: extra sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Gently fold in blueberries.
  4. Pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Carefully spoon the dough over the butter, spreading evenly.
  5. Score the dough into 9 squares using a sharp knife.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown on top and cooked through.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with extra sugar if desired.
