Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups penne pasta, uncooked
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the diced chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chicken until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce, red pepper flakes (if using), and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the uncooked pasta and mix well. Cover and let it simmer for 12-15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pasta, cover, and let it melt for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
