Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper and grease lightly.
  2. Melt butter and chopped bittersweet chocolate in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk in eggs one at a time until fully combined.
  5. Fold in flour gently and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the center is set. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. For the ganache, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then pour over chocolate chips in a bowl.
  8. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth. Pour ganache over cooled cake and refrigerate until set.
