In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
Add diced tomatoes with juice, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.
Pour in vegetable broth and water. Bring to a boil.
Stir in alphabet pasta and cook for 6-7 minutes until pasta is tender.
Add frozen peas and spinach. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
