Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or whole wheat work well)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2-3 tomato slices
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheese, tomato, and avocado.
  3. Top with the second bread slice, buttered side out.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the sandwich for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Slice and serve warm.
