Easy Cheesy Garlic Potatoes Gratin

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat the cream and garlic over medium heat until steaming. Remove from heat.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle half of the Gruyère and cheddar over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the warm cream mixture evenly over the layers.
  7. Repeat with remaining potatoes, seasoning, cheese, and cream.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  10. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped chives.
