Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce, chicken broth, and uncooked pasta. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
