Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or olive oil)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking dish with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, oil, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place drumsticks in the baking dish and pour the marinade over them. Turn to coat evenly.
  4. Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes, flipping halfway through and basting with pan juices.
  5. Broil for 2-3 minutes at the end for extra caramelization, if desired.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
