Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the chopped nuts.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, oil, and egg until well blended.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
