Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for topping (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley or basil, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or shallow dish, pour in the olive oil.
  2. Add balsamic vinegar if using, then stir in the minced garlic.
  3. Sprinkle in the oregano, thyme, rosemary, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and herbs if using.
  6. Serve immediately with slices of fresh crusty bread.
