Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or ham (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced vegetables (spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and heavy cream.
  4. Stir in cheese, cooked bacon or ham, vegetables, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared crust.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly golden.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
