Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (113g) lukewarm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons (100g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (about 28g) shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Flaky salt, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the water, yeast, and olive oil.
  2. Add the salt and flour, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and let rise at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours, until bubbly and doubled in size.
  4. Grease a 6” or 8” round cake pan or baking dish with olive oil.
  5. Transfer dough to the pan and gently stretch to fit. Let rest 30 to 45 minutes, uncovered.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  7. Dimple the dough with your fingertips. Drizzle with olive oil and top with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
