Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
Optional: sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Slice and serve warm.
