Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup beef drippings or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a muffin tin or pudding tray in the oven to heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, milk, and salt until smooth.
  3. Remove the hot tray from the oven and quickly pour in beef drippings or oil to cover the bottom of each mold.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the hot molds, filling them about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven while baking.
  6. Serve hot as a side dish with roast meats or gravy.
