Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water, then stir in the yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until dough begins to form. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it out onto a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  6. Add desired toppings and bake at 450°F for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden brown.
