Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken (or turkey)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped scallions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, green onions, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Shape into small meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add honey, sriracha, soy sauce, and vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Whisk in the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Toss baked meatballs in the sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
