Ingredients

  • 500g Korean rice cakes (tteokbokki)
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, combine water, gochujang, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir until mixed well.
  2. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add rice cakes and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and chewy, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add boiled eggs and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if using.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
