Ingredients

  • 1 box Devil’s Food Cake Mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (12 oz) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • Hershey’s chocolate syrup or curls for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a springform pan with parchment paper and grease the sides.
  2. Prepare the Devil’s Food cake mix according to box directions. Divide batter between two 9-inch cake pans and bake. Let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Pour cheesecake mixture into prepared springform pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely, then refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
  5. For the ganache, heat heavy cream until just boiling. Pour over chocolate chips and butter, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  6. To assemble, place one cake layer on a plate, add cheesecake layer on top, then top with the second cake layer. Pour ganache over the top and garnish as desired.
  7. Chill until set. Slice and serve!
