Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
  4. Slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
  6. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately over cooked pasta.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
