Ingredients

  • 2 oz Malibu coconut rum
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • Ice cubes
  • Maraschino cherry, for garnish
  • Pineapple wedge, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a highball or hurricane glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in the Malibu rum followed by the pineapple juice.
  3. Slowly pour the grenadine down the side of the glass. It will settle at the bottom creating a layered 'sunset' effect.
  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a pineapple wedge.
  5. Serve immediately without stirring to maintain the beautiful layered look.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute coconut rum with coconut water or coconut-flavored soda.
