In a bowl, beat 1/2 cup butter and cream cheese until smooth.
Add flour and mix until combined. Shape into 1-inch balls.
Press dough into the bottoms and up the sides of greased mini muffin cups.
In another bowl, whisk egg, brown sugar, pecans, 1 tablespoon butter, vanilla, and maple syrup until blended.
Spoon filling into shells, about 1 tablespoon each.
Bake at 350°F for 18-20 minutes or until set.
Cool in pans for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
