Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 packet lime-flavored Jello (3 oz)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 2 tbsp triple sec
  • Coarse salt (for rimming)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  2. Dissolve the lime Jello packet in the boiling water, stirring for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
  3. Stir in the cold water, tequila, and triple sec until well mixed.
  4. Pour the mixture into shot cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  5. Before serving, dip the rims of the cups in lime juice and then into coarse salt.
  6. Garnish with lime wedges and serve chilled.

Notes

For a sweeter version, substitute triple sec with orange juice. Adjust tequila amount based on preference.
