Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups low-carb marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, egg, and parmesan cheese.
  3. Form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them in a greased casserole dish.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the casserole from the oven and pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  6. Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
