Ingredients

  • 6 bratwurst sausages
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups beer (lager or ale)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 brat buns or hoagie rolls
  • Mustard, ketchup, or preferred toppings

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add bratwursts on top of the onions.
  3. Pour beer over the brats and add butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until brats are cooked through and tender.
  5. Serve brats on buns with onions and your choice of toppings.
