Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss to coat.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Place a few strawberry pieces on each triangle and roll up, starting from the wide end.
  4. Arrange dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar, then pour over the dumplings.
  6. Pour the lemon-lime soda around the dumplings (not over the top).
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
