Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and scoop out the center of each half to make room for filling.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in cream cheese and sour cream until melted and combined.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture into the hollowed-out bread halves and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving, if desired. Slice and serve warm.
