Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings or drumettes
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Coat chicken pieces in the dry mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Lightly spray or toss chicken with vegetable oil.
  5. Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Air fry for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
  7. In a saucepan, mix soy sauce, gochujang, honey, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, ginger, and rice vinegar.
  8. Simmer the sauce over medium heat until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  9. Toss cooked chicken in the sauce until fully coated.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
