In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
Divide batter between prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow cakes to cool completely before assembling.
Spread strawberry jam over one cake layer, then add chopped strawberries.
Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then spread over the strawberries.
Place the second cake layer on top and drizzle melted chocolate over the cake.
